Feather AS-D2 Stainless Steel Safety Razor

Fit and finish is perfect,and the Feather blades are perfect,even in low end tto razors.

This is the best razor I've ever used and I've used them all. I lost my last one at a hotel and quickly purchased another. I won't buy anything else period.

As usual, excellent customer service by Royal Shave. When I received my razor I loaded it with one of the Feather blades it came with. Performed my usual pre-shave routine. shower, Trumper's Limes skin food, and Trumper's Limes shave cream. Started my shave using a 45 degree shaving angle as suggested. I heard absolutely no audible feedback whatsoever. No whiskers being removed at all. Tried several times with the same result. Looked closely at the razor and noticed a wide distance between the blade edge and the comb. No way the blade would ever make contact with the face. I thought I had made a $179.00 mistake and was very dissapointed. The next day I decided to put in my usual blade of choice, a Personna Blue. I Immediately noticed the smaller blade gap. I lathered and quickly I was going to get one of my best shaves, and is now my razor of choice. To all the people who say it's too mild to get a good shave just try one of your go to blades. The Feather blades included with the razor just may be the problem. The razor is impressive in both looks and quality. The $179 is money well spent indeed. Treat yourself. You deserve it!

I finally broke down. The trumpets for this razor were blaring, and I could no longer resist. Some like it better than the dramatically priced Pils. I found it on sale, and I had to have it. It's a good razor. It's as good as my wonderful Edwin Jagger DE8911. It's not better, or not better enough to talk about, but it's good. The problem is it costs 3-4 times the price of the Jagger. There's simply no way it's worth it. So I rate it five stars for quality and one star for price.
